Jou Novou is a small, grassroots organization created in 2008 to support the community building efforts of the people of Bon Repos, Haiti, especially its women and children.
“Jou Nouvou” means “ New Day” in Haitian Creole, and the organization is bringing a new day by providing day care service,education and recreation for youth, adult literacy classes, small business loans and free, quality medical care for everyone. Jou Nouvou is affiliated with Partners in Development ( PID), a non-denominational, non- profit, 501 (c)(3) organization.
Jou Nouvou shares responsibility for its projects with a women’s group in Bon Repos. As part of its fundraising, Jou Nouvou is working with some artists in Haiti to buy their art at fair prices , to sell here to support the organization. Some of these pieces will be available for purchase .
